'I volunteer as a member of the Sister City Committee and have participated in delegations to Bundaberg's Sister Cities - Settsu (in Japan) and Nanning (in China). These trips are not paid by council - all participants pay for their own travel arrangements. But they provide a wonderful way to engage with other cultures and develop social and business ties with other communities. In October 2005, my husband Frank and I travelled as part of the Bundaberg Delegation to the ASEAN Summit in Nanning, China.'
